7-Step Verification Checklist

Before paying ₹10,000-₹60,000+ to a tour operator you found online, verify them using this checklist. Your money and safety depend on it.

1. Check for a physical address — A legitimate operator lists a verifiable office address, not just a PO Box or "virtual office." Search the address on Google Maps.
2. Look for business registration — GSTIN, company registration number, or Ministry of Tourism recognition should be visible on the website.
3. Verify third-party reviews — Check Google Business Profile, TripAdvisor, and Justdial. No reviews or only website-hosted reviews is a red flag.
4. Check domain reputation — Use ScamAdviser.com to check the domain. New domains (<1 year old) with hidden WHOIS are higher risk.
5. Verify payment security — Legitimate operators accept trackable payments (UPI, bank transfer, PayPal) and provide a clear cancellation/refund policy.
6. Ask for a detailed itinerary — A real operator provides day-by-day itinerary with hotel names, vehicle type, and itemised pricing. "Trust us" is not an itinerary.
7. Check communication quality — Response time under 2 hours, professional WhatsApp/email communication, willingness to answer detailed questions.

Red Flags 🚩

• Only WhatsApp number, no email or landline
• Demand 100% payment upfront with no cancellation policy
• Unrealably low prices (50%+ below market average)
• No named hotels in the itinerary ("premium hotel" without a name)
• Domain registered for less than 1 year with hidden WHOIS
• No presence on any third-party review platform
