How much does the helicopter cost for Vaishno Devi?
Official Shrine Board helicopter rate: ₹2,320 per person one way (Katra to Sanjichhat), ₹4,640 round trip. RUDVO books these in advance (up to 60 days). Price is regulated by the Shrine Board — same for all pilgrims.
Is the helicopter safe for senior citizens?
Yes. The helicopter service is operated by Shrine Board-approved operators under DGCA safety guidelines. The flight takes 8 minutes. It is considered safe for seniors, children, and those unable to trek. Life jackets provided.
What is Yatra Registration Parchi?
It is a mandatory registration document issued by the Shrine Board. Without it, you cannot proceed to the Bhawan or board the helicopter. RUDVO assists with online registration. It is free of cost.
How do we reach Katra from Rajasthan?
From Jaipur: direct train (23 hrs, once weekly) or fly Jaipur-Jammu (2 hrs) then drive to Katra (50 km, 1.5 hrs). From Jodhpur: train to Jammu (16-18 hrs). RUDVO arranges the most suitable option based on your group size and budget.
What if the helicopter is cancelled due to weather?

March to June and September to November are ideal. Avoid July-August (monsoon) and January-February (extreme cold and snow). Navratras (April and October) are very crowded but most auspicious.
